When I had my twin girls, and my eldest
daughter was 3½, suddenly I had a lot of medical information to
remember from doctor's appointments for all three of them, not to
mention myself and my husband. Additionally, unfortunately,
one of my girls was born with some medical issues which required
specialized treatment, through Sick Kids Hospital in Toronto,
Canada. I would try to write down questions I had in
preparation for appointments on a scrap piece of paper I found in
my purse in the waiting room (sound familiar?) and then try to
remember all of the information in my head that I was told.

As a busy
parent, I knew how important it was to stay organized and
keep good records on my children's health and medical
treatment. It was suggested to me by Dr. Christopher
Forrest at Sick Kids Hospital in Toronto, that I keep a
journal to record notes of appointments, questions,
instructions given etc...well here it is! I decided
to create this journal and asked some friends to trial it
for me with their own kids. It was a hit! And So,
this Family Medical Journal is now available to all
parents to help them

Jodie
Pappas, a parent and family health management expert, created
Your Family Health Organizer
following
the birth of one of her twin girls, who was born with a
rare medical condition that required ongoing treatment and
surgery. While
attending numerous doctors` appointments at The Hospital
for Sick Children in Toronto, Ontario, as well as
appointments with a number of specialists, all of whom
kept different records, Jodie realized that she needed a
better way to keep track of medical information for her
family.
Jodie Pappas was born in Toronto and grew up in Mississauga,
Ontario where she currently resides with her three
daughters and husband.
